vCenter Upgrade sequence from vCenter 6.0 Update 2 to vCenter 6.0 Update 3a

Hi Experts,

I need your help to understand the sequence for updating vcenter 6.0 update 2 to vcenter 6.0 update 3a (Windows).

In our current environment, we have a single Windows vCenter server (Windows 2012 R2)  & 2 platform service controllers & seperate SQL database server (Windows 2012 R2, SQL Server Standard 2014 SP2)

What is the recommended method to upgrade Windows vCenter 6.0 server update 2 to vCenter 6.0 update 3a?

Is there any steps or documentation around it? If someone has screenshots, it would be really helpful.

Thanks

Rajat

Do you mean migrate from Windows vCenter to the VCSA?

If you just mean a standard upgrade to your existing Windows 6.0 vCenter then follow this guide for the upgrade order.

Hi,

Its just simple to upgrade from vcenter 6.0 to 6.0U3a or 3b Latest)

Download the ISO

Pre steps:

1. Take a backup of vcenter

2. Take a snapshot

3. Make a note on which host and Datastore the vcenter is currently running on

4. You need administrator@vsphere.local user id / password and also DB user id / password to check ODBC connectivity etc

5. Stop, if any Antivirus software running

Start the upgrade process
