Has anyone experienced an issue performing either a new installation OR upgrade of the VCSA 6.5 software? I'm on MAC OS X Sierra 10.12.1. I get as far as the OFV build out, and the wizard bombs saying ovftool not available.

Any help would be appreciated... I will try this again from a different Mac w/ El Capitan to see if Sierra is too "new". Thanks for any help with this.
I found a post that identifies the problem, and provides the solution:
http://emadyounis.com/vcenter/vcenter-server-appliance-vcsa-6-5-installer-macos-ovftool-error/
I followed option #1 and had no problems! OYE!
i have tried successful upgrade from MAC 10.10 MAC 10.11 and 10.12 and hence i feel in MAC 10.12.1 also upgrade/install should work.
i suggest u to again download the build and give a rerun it may work.
i think its not MAC os specific issue.
i was able to run successful upgrade on 10.12.1
following is my os info

ProductName: Mac OS X
ProductVersion: 10.12.1
BuildVersion: 16B2555
Update: I've tried several times on a system with:
ProductName: | Mac OS X |
ProductVersion: | 10.12.1 |
BuildVersion: | 16B2555 |
to no avail. On my other Mac that has OS X El Capitan, no issues. Not sure how to get past this issue on my other Mac. I agree, i doubt it's an OS-specific issue, but rather a system-specific issue.

Extract the contents of the ISO image into a local folder then try to run the installer either through CLI/UI and it will work.
Pradeepjigualur,
Yep, i had tried that as well, copying to a local folder, but that failed w/ the exact same error message. I have no problem on two (2) other macs that are still on El Capitan, but i don't think it's version specific issue, it's something on this mac that is not quite right. I thought about removing and/or re-installing ovftool, but i doubt that will do anything. Just not sure what it is.
