Does anyone know if any problem of running vCenter Server 5.5 on an Oracle DB 10g?
The support matrix shows no support, however, i find that there's also no support matrix for Oracle 12c, but I find that the vCenter Server 5.5 Update 2 Release Notes states that it supports Oracle 12c.
Would there be any problem of running vCenter Server 5.5 on an Oralce DB 10g?? Thanks.

The VMware Database support matrix does in fact show that Oracle 12c is supported for the vCenter 5.5 U2 database:
VMware Product Interoperability Matrixes
10g however is not supported. It may work if you follow the same instructions though (check the vCenter 5.0 documentation where it was supported), but it remains unsupported by VMware.
Anyone has the experience of haveing vCenter 5.5 running with Oracle 10g before?
Does anyone has any experience with that?
Hi,
Taking a look at the VMware Product Interoperability Matrix for vCenter 5.5 and Oracle 10g, it doesn't show as supported.
It does show some other versions 11g, to be supported but gives warning of database corruption. I don't have much experience with OracleDB for vCenter but I would be careful from straying outside of the support matrix. If your product/versions aren't listed together I wouldn't do it for anything else other than a test environment. Certainly not production.
I prefer to keep my Windows vCenter Server on SQL and where possible use the vCSA with embedded DB!
