vCenter Server 4.00 Question

Jump to solution

Hi

I wonder if you could give me an advice, to fix this problem.

The vpxd log says:

[2015-11-09 15:40:37.525 04660 info 'App'] [VpxdMoHost::UpdateConfigInt] Marked esx23.xxx as dirty.

...

[2015-11-09 15:40:39.103 04660 error 'App'] Win32 exception: Stack overflow (0xc00000fd)

[2015-11-09 15:40:39.103 04660 error 'App']    eip: 0x4e6067 esp: 0x6034a70 ebp: 0x6034a88

[2015-11-09 15:40:39.103 04660 error 'App']    eax: 0x6032000 ebx: 00000000 ecx: 0x6032a68 edx: 0xfffffffe edi: 0x3e1cbc0 esi: 0x3e1cbd0

All nodes in the cluster are marked dirty. If we start vCenter Service in Windows and connect with the client, the vCenter Server service crashed with the error message above.

Any ideas or hints, what could cause this behaviour?

Hi Porto

Thanks for replying! We were able to fix the problem. We had one VM with orphaned snapshot files (100++) that caused the problems. We removed the snapshot and it worked again without any problems.

Thanks!

Sven

Any chance to attach the whole vpxd.log ? Anyway, try restart the management agent (service mgmt-vmware restart) on ESX host referenced as dirty on vpxd.log and then restart the vCenter Server again.
