vCenter Login Error after Installing SQL 2014 in the Same Box

vCenter Login Error after Installing SQL 2014 in the Same Box

Hi Guys,

This is Gopal, VCP410 - 2012.

One of my DBA installed SQL 2014 std edition in the same box (Separate instance than VM SQL Express)  where we have our vCenter SQL database and after the installation of SQL 2014 we are not able to login to the vCenter via web client or desktop client. Desktop client giving bad username and password error but web client has some more descriptive error as below.

The authentication server returned an unexpected error: ns0:RequestFailed: STS token validators are not initialized. The error may be caused by a malfunctioning identity source.

Product: VMware vSphere 5 Essentials Plus Licensed for 2 physical CPUs (unlimited cores per CPU)

vCenter Version: 5.1

I can login to ESXi and manage the VMs as of now.

PLEASE HELP!

Regards,

Gopal

Please double check how much space left on the virtual disk where sql express DB for vCenter resides.

if you are running out of space, make more space available and restart the services.
