vCenter Licensing during a migration

I am planning for a rebuild & migration effort for our vSphere environment.  We are currently running vSphere 6.0 and building a new environment in 6.7.  My question resolves around the licensing of vCenter.  I was curious if its possible to activate the same license of vCenter in our new 6.7 environment and leave the old 6.0 vCenter environment unaffected.  This would be for only a temporary period of time, while we migrate all the VMs from the 6.0 to the 6.7.  I was confident this is possible and would not negatively effect the old 6.0 environment until we can finish the migration and deprecate the 6.0 vCenter.

Can anyone confirm?

Although this is will work from a technical point of view, it may violate the license agreement.

The official way to do this, is to run the new environment in evaluation mode (up to 60-days), and assign the license keys once migration is done.
