vCenter HA replication and customer configurations

Greetings,

We built a 6.5u2 VCHA cluster a few months ago that has been working well for us. I'm trying to understand what if any config/data other than vpostgres database data is replicated to the passive node. We setup cron backup jobs and Splunk agents on the active node dumbly expecting this would get replicated to the passive node. That is not the case. Failing over our VCHA cluster last night all of our stuff we expected to run failed because it wasn't there. Since the passive node is never on the routed network, all that stuff that was on the active node is now passive and not communicating.

Thanks for any insight into how we can best manage these clusters.

We also attempted an upgrade to 6.5 U3c last night and it repeatedly failed on the witness node.. have a vmware SR open on it now.

Ron

First, installing any agents on the vCSA is unsupported and you run the risk of causing instability. Second, only select things are replicated including vPostgres and certain vCenter config files. Not Cron jobs.
