I have a technical clarifications with regards to the VMware converter standalone tool,
Customer Environment :
1. 2 Sites- Site A and Site B
2. Site A - Hyper-v 100 VMs(40TB) & Physical Servers
3. Site B - VMware ESXi 6.5 - 5 Hosts
4. Network link between site A and Site B - 300 Mbps
Requirement:
1. Migrate VMs from Hyper-v to VMware from Site A to Site B without any down time.
Migration Approach :
1First we will sync 100 VMs between the existing and new central site on layer 3 network
2 At this point we will switch to layer 2 network
3 Once the sync is complete we will start powering ON the VM one by one. Meanwhile other non-powered ON VMs should keep syncing
Tool Expectation:
1.Tool capability should include replication/sync of 100+ VMs simultaneously with start & pause
2 Can sync source and destination servers/VMs in real time
3 Replication/sync optimized for WAN would be an add-on
4 Compression would be an add-on
5 Data integrity and minimal downtime is a priority
Please help we whether I can go with Vmware standalone converter tool , it can fulfill the requirements.
