vCenter Converter vs Converter Standalone

Hey everyone, I'm going to be doing some v2v of live servers and started looking into vmware's converter application (need to just pull the OS drive). I noticed there's old documentation referring to a vCenter based Converter, but it looks like this was dropped in favor of the standalone application years ago. Is this the case? Should I just work with local installs of the standalone, or is there a vCenter based system that I can work with?

Thanks!

You can install standalone converter either on local machine or on remote machine, provided you have to give the source machine IP and destination ESXi IP for data transfer during conversion.

So basically I can still run the standalone process from my vCenter server (Windows based), it's just not directly integrated into the vCenter UI?

Sounds like a solid solution, thanks for the info!
