vCenter Agent

I'm using vCenter 5.1 and will be adding vSphere 5.1 hosts into a datacenter farm. When ESXi 5.1 hosts are added does vCenter server install an agent on the ESXi hosts? My understanding is the hosts have no console for agents, but would like to understand how vCenter and ESXi interact and whether an agent install takes place - thanks

In ESXi 5.1, vpxa is default installed as a module in ESXi. Once the vCenter is added, it starts talking to vpxd

Ok thanks AakashJ, so the vpxa component already exists and when added to the VMware farm on vCenter it the vpxa and vpxd start to interact..
