I got a datacenter which is using vsphere 7(version 7.0.3 of vCenter & ESXi ).
recently, one of the ESXi in the vSAN cluster crashed due to PSOD event, note that the HA & DRS are enabled, and the HA settings are shown below.
The settings of this vSAN cluster is: Fault domain failures to tolerate=3 and all hosts are standalone, and each host has two diskgroups.
During the ESXi host crash event, I discovered that a VM (located in the vSAN storage)operating system went into hung status, so I'm curious about why HA seemed not working?
After i made this ESXi host online, the VM then went back into normal status...
you would need to check the fdm log file to see why the VM wasn't restarted.
PS1: Host Isolation response is typically enabled for vSAN based environments. (Power Off)
PS2: Make sure to also enter a decent isolation address on the vSAN network.
