vCenter 6.7 update

Hi

I'm trying to update our vcenter 6.7.0.44000 to the latest 6.7.0.48000. When I update (doesn't matter if webgui, iso or url) the update fails at "Running test transaction". I then saw, that the tdnf repositories had the old bintray.com entries. I changed them to packages.vmware. Still doesn't work. If I make tdnf update, it updates about half of all packages, for the rest the following messages appear (only a few examples).

/bin/python3 is needed by (installed) python3-automat-0.5.0-1.ph1.noarch
/usr/bin/pkg-config is needed by (installed) nspr-4.21-1.ph1.x86_64
/sbin/ldconfig is needed by (installed) gdbm-1.11-2.ph1.x86_64

Does someone have a solution for this problem?

Thanks, regards

Matthias

Seems like you have made multiple upgrade attempts without reverting snapshots(if taken). So it seems like packages are messed up.

Do u have a backup to restore prior to the first update attempt. If yes ...after restore.. take new snapshot(without memory) and try patching via CLI using fp.iso

@mschuchter,

I can see the following over and over: needs XXX inodes on the / filesystem

Could you please run df -h to see the disk space utilization?

I tried it. Didn't worked. rpm -qa | grep "vmware-tools-core" | less didn't gave an answer, because there's no package named vmware-tools-core. Do you have any other ideas?

Thanks, regards

Matthias

I restored the vcenter from the backup and did the update using the iso method. Worked fine. Thanks for the huge help.
