vCenter 6.0 upgrade from 5.5 simple install and external PSC support?

Hello folks,

Everything I have read so far indicates that an upgrade from vCenter 5.5 simple install on W2K12 R2 to 6.0 only supports an embedded PSC installation during upgrade.

See page 25 of Upgrade Guide.

https://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-60/topic/com.vmware.ICbase/PDF/vsphere-esxi-vcenter-server-60-upgrad...

Also notice mentions it here:

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&externalId=2...

Page 8 of deployment guide mentions same thing, embedded install of PSC when upgrading from a simple install.

https://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/vmware-vcenter-server6-deployment-guide.pdf

Just to confirm, is there a supported process to upgrade a vCenter 5.5 simple install to 6.0 and creating an external PSC?

Thanks,

romatlo

As far as upgrade is concerned, at the moment, there's no supported method available to achieve that.
