vCenter 6.0 to 7.0 upgrade.

Hi,

We are looking to upgrade our old vCenter 6.0 to version 7.0. We are about to buy a required licenses now. I am aware that direct upgrade/migration from 6.0 to 7.0 is not possible so we need to perform upgrade to 6.7 first. Would we be able to do it using a new license for 7.0?

Thanks

License keys are usually provided for major versions, so you shouldn't have any license key needs with the upgrade to version 6.7 at all, i.e. you only need the new v7 keys after upgrading to version 7.0.

Please remeber that vCenter Server 7.0 does only supports ESXi 6.5 and later, so you'll need the hosts too, before you proceed with the upgrade to v7.0. Also make sure that your hardware is supported by the ESXi version that you plan to install!
