vCenter 5.1 / Host profile issue with permission for domain-user

Hi,

I want to set a local permission on our ESXi 5.1 servers using Host Profiles.

So I configure the desired permission at "Security configuration/Permission rules/Permission Rules/Permission":

- Require a permission rule

- Username:     domain\nagios

- not a group

- ReadOnly

- Propagate

This works well and this permission gets configured. Strange thing is that the check of the host profile fails with:

"A permission for user or group domain agios does not exist"

I assume that the "\n" within "domain\nagios" gets misinterpreted.

Any help appreciated.

Kind regards

Did you try using pre-windows 2000 login name ( example: username@domain.local )?

Hi, just tried that:

Using nagios@domain.local the permission gets configured properly. Get-ViPermission lists it as "domain\nagios".

The Compliance-Check then fails "A permission for user or group nagios@domain.local does not exist"...
