We deployed a medium size appliance a while back and our CPU / memory usage are getting high.  I assumed it would be as easy as powering down the appliance and increasing CPU and memory to the large size deployment (although I'm curious if we could size it in-between).   I'm struggled to find any guidance in the VMware docs on this.  I opened a case with support and the feedback I'm getting is that's not supported and we have to deploy a new appliance as large and migrate to it.  That seems really odd to me that we can't just increase resources.  Curious if anyone else has ran into this.

Vmware support most likely does not support since there is a risk a wrong change could make the appliance unusable. With that being said, other have tried this, and have documented the process. Please make sure you backup the appliance if you wish to try this. https://www.virtualpotholes.com/post/151039651400/how-to-resize-the-vcenter-server-appliance-vcsa
