I need help to

Sorry, but I'm having trouble to understand your setup.
Anyway, ensure that the backup location/share is not on the ESXi host from which you backup the VMs. In case of a host failure, you'd lose everything, the VMs as well as the backup.

Hello,
I am aware that if the host fails, everything is lost, but they want it to be like that, the machines and the copies on the same esxi host. The problem is that I cannot share a host folder and I want to know if it is possible or not in some way.
thanks for you reply,
Hi
I believe that shared folders don't work on vsphere. You can set up a file sharing VM to be used by backup.
Hi sergiodiazanunzia
Share folder from windows is not possible because of different file formats. windows uses NTFS and VMware uses VMFS
hence it is not possible to achieve what you are trying to apply.
As above, because its vmfs you wont be able to access it from Windows. If youre datastore happened to be nfs then you may have more luck...
