renaming datastore with running VMs on it

Is there any impact of renaming a Datastore in a Datastore Cluster with running VMs on it?  I don't believe there is an impact when done from vCenter correct?

You can rename without problem, since datastore are refereed by UUID instead of friendly display name... but, if the datastore is shared by multiple ESXi hosts managed by vCenter, rename it from the vCenter instead of ESXi directly. You can confirm that here: Renaming a datastore when virtual machines are running on the datastore (1006279) | VMware KB

Hi dmeyner22‌,

Did you have a chance to read the link I referenced in my previous post? Do you have any additional doubt? If not, remember to mark answers as helpful or correct.
