we configure a cluster with two hosts with vcenter server on appliance on host esxi1
the pb is when the hosts having the vcenter go down all the cluster goes down
is there any ideas on this pb
Did you put your vCenter on shared datastore and enabled HA on the cluster ?
yes the vcenter appliance is on shared DataStore accesible for two hosts
we enable Ha on the cluster
You can vMotion the VCSA between two hosts ?
yes when i select to migrate vcenter from host 1 to host 2 it success
Very strange behavior, anyway can you check if the VM of VCSA are HA Protected on the Summary tab of the VM and if the HA failover is not disabled for the VCSA on the cluster HA configuration ?
if you can migrate the vcenter ,please look at how much vCPU or Memory can porvided to vCenter.
i verify that vcenter is ha protected
than ha is enabled
Check the following:
- Right Click Cluster
- Edit Settings
- Virtual Machine Options
- Virtual Machine Settings > VM Restart Priority
Make sure the vCenter VM Restart Priority is not Disabled... and I will recommend you change to High, cause if there is not many resources available on the host2, maybe the vCenter fail to restart due the insufficient resources on that host.
HI
this a new instalation two Dell Server Power edge R620 and there is only two virtual machine one Windows 2008 for the test and the other is vcenter and we put the test machine on one host and the vcenter appliance on the other host (there is a still a lot of free ressource)
i just verify the virtual machine options the restart level is on high
