forgot you other two questions, You can reserve memory and CPU for Resource pool to guarantee memory, CPU to VMs from this resource pool.

You can migrate VMs from vAPPs but not the vAPP.

Hi,

Memory Ballooning is a memory reclamation  technique used when and ESXi host is running low on memory. If you have enough memory on ESXi host, you will not see ballooning happening.

Swap - In the cases where ballooning, transparent page sharing, and memory compression are not sufficient to reclaim memory, ESXi employs hypervisor swapping to reclaim memory.

Please read below document for detailed information about VMware Memory management.

http://www.vmware.com/content/dam/digitalmarketing/vmware/en/pdf/techpaper/mem_mgmt_perf_vsphere5.pd...

Note, Guest OS memory swapping is different than Hypervisor/Vm swapping.

Yes. You reserve amount of physical RAM, CPU for that particular Resource pool.

Note, you can also set RAM, CPU reservation for specific Virtual Machine.
