esxi server running 6.5.0 (Build 5310538) Supermicro X9DRi-LN4+/X9DR3-LN4+ with LSI MegaRAID SAS 9261-8i with SAS MegaRAID VMWare 6.0 / 6.5 SMIS Provider VIB Version: 00.66.V0.02
connected to a VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.5.0.5500
In the embedded host client I can see the controller health.
Using the legacy client connected directly to this host I can see the health.
but in vcenter I can not find it.
Any idea what's going on here?
On a Dell Poweredge server that has the dell openmanage vib installed that's also connected to this vcenter server I can see the storage status
Though on the embedded host client the storage status is part of the system sensor list
and the Storage tab is blank
Stop and start CIM broker daemon and then check.
/etc/init.d/sfcbd-watchdog stop
/etc/init.d/sfcbd-watchdog start
I have many types of SuperMicro Mainboards in service, some have LSI HBA's (vSAN nodes). I'm not going to list all the MB models as it's not that relevant.
On all systems, without exception, the hardware sensor status does not work in vCenter since upgrading to vCenter 6.5 and ESXi 6.5.
Windows vCenter or the appliance is irrelevant by the way.
Two hosts are still on ESXi 6.0 (for reasons I won't go into now) and their hardware statuses are displayed fine in vCenter 6.5.
All ESXi 6.5 hosts have working hardware statuses when viewed with their embedded host client WebGUI's. Meaning that the data is retrieved from all motherboards correctly and displayed correctly locally.
Just not in vCenter.
Yes, I have read every blog and KB article I could find.
I can restart daemons and what not all day long, no ESXi 6.5 host has working HW stats in vCenter. We are at vCenter 6.5d at the moment and it is still broken.
Tried this and it didn't make a difference
