Hi,
I am trying to remove the Server vCenter 6.5 from my Windows 2016 server.
Some how, the installation has become corrupted.
A uninstall from the programs folder ends up with an 1603 error on VCSServicemanager.
Tried to upgrade to the newest version with the same error.
Now i am stuck with a half installation of vcenter.
Is there a way to mannually remove this installation?
(No worries about keeping the database or config, i just need vCenter for my VEEAM backup and managing my host)
Regards,
Dimitri
You can check the vminst.log from %temp% where it is failing or which component it is failing..
Alternatively, you can install new windows machine, install a new VC (provided you have the database on a separate machine or copy of database) and choose the database.
You can power off the existing one.
Thanks,
MS
Thanks for your reply.
My vCenter server is a physical server wich also host my backup.
The reinstall would be the last thing to do in this one.
I hoped to reinstall the vCenter on the existing server.
Regards,
Dimitri
Dimitri,
What did you end up doing to get your vCenter 6.5 for windows running again?
I have a very similar situation.
