For evaluation you will only get the latest version of vCenter appliance. You will be able to download 5.1 only with license.
because when i install VCenter Server 5.5 on WIndows Server R2 2008 , i don't connect to my VCenter by Vsphere client, and hen i show the services i found that Virtualcenter don't start so when i try to start it, a message of error (1053) appear.
Then why not use 5.5 appliance? Why 5.1? The vCenter you have will work only for 60 days. After that you will have to buy a license.
