vCenter installation accounts does not need to be a 'Domain Administrator' but that Domain User should be member of Administrator Group on vCenter server.

On each system that is running vCenter Server, verify that the domain user account has these permissions:

  • Member of the Administrators group
  • Act as part of the operating system
  • Log on as a service

if your system is part of Domain, its recommended to use Domain User for installation.

Thanks,
