hello
i have 10 vmware esxi server
every server have more then 30VM
now its too tuff to manage all VM
so i am thinking to get a vcenter license
before i buy i want to know one think
like if i buy
Standard (requires vCenter) | $995 |
then
can i manage my all vmware esxi server
may i need to buy any more vcenter or esxi license
Now i am using this free vmware esxi license
In order to manager 10 ESXi host you need one instance of vCenter Server Standard plus licenses for the ESXi hosts (Standard edition, or better). ESXi hosts are license by the number of physical processors. So if you have e.g. 10 ESXi hosts with 2 CPUs each, you need to get 20 ESXi licenses in addition to the vCenter Server license.
ESXi hosts with the free Hypervisor license cannot be managed by vCenter Server.

As already told you need licensens for your Hosts (vSphere ESXi Standard) and vCenter Standard(unlimited Number of Hosts).
If this is your first buy you can go for a Bundle like Accelerator Kit Std. (6x vSphere ESXi Std. + vCenter Std) which gives a nice discount and additional 14x vSphere ESXi Std.). If not already done signed up for a VPP account before request the offer(but for sure your VMware partner will take care) as same as for a DealReg.
Question: How many CPU Sockets in total your 10 Hosts have?
