fault tolerance without site-recovery-manager, HA

Hi,

we have not the feature site-recovery-manager.

But I will build a fault tolerance for vcenter-server. I have 2 vcenter licenses and my idea is to build a group of linked vcenter server.

if one get off the other has the same data and I can administrate my vmware-hosts.

I have 2 physical machines for the vcenter-server. Each in a other location.

my plan is:

- physic 1

  - sso (primary)

  - inventory service

  - vcenter with sql-express

-physic 2:

- sso (as second instance)

- inventory service 2 ( ??? )

- vcenter with second sql-express ( linked mode to the first vcenter )

is that ok ? work vcenter 2 if vcenter 1 is down ?

thx

~Frank

No, won't work. With current versions of vCenter only one instance can manage (be connected to) hosts.

For this type of solution, shown above, you will require vCenter Heartbeat to protect, vCenter, SSO and SQL.
