Starting on Sunday the 7th one of our esxi hosts reported disconnection. I didn't think much of it because it came right back shortly but it continued to do this through most of the night, slowly all the other hosts did this until Monday morning where all the hosts were d/c'ed and I couldn't connect to the vcenter.
I rebooted the vcenter to hopefully try and clear up issues and almost every host reconnected and reported a green status. I manually reconnected the others and everything for the time being seems ok but I'm curious as to what could have caused this.
Nothing in our environment changed over the weekend in regards to patches, updates, or hardware.
I've put in a ticket with vmware support but I'm trying to blanket any community that might have a similar issue.
My vCenter server is also 5.5 and it is a virtual machine, the database for vCenter lives on another virtual machine.
