confused: VDS

I am upgrading from vSphere 5.5 to vSphere 6. i have exported my vDS configuration from vCenter 5.5 and imported in vCenter6

i have disconnected a host from vSphere5.5(i have migrated all VMs to other hosts) and i have upgraded this host to ESXi 6

I have added it to vCenter 6.6. ,  for the host which i added, when i check networking, i can see,  vmnic0 under standard switch: vSwith0

Can i delete this vMkernel port(it has mgmt ip) so that i can add it to vDS switch. OR when i add this host to vDS switch it will migrate this port from standard switch to vDS switch

I am confused here.experts guide me. Below is the screenshot which i see wheni add the host to vDS

Just create a new vDS or add the host to an existing vDS and you will have the option to migrate the management VMkernel to the vDS. The following link show a step by step guide: Back To Basics: Migrating from Standard Switches to Distributed Switches (8 of 9) | Mike Laverick...

If the hosts on the old vCenter is using vDS, you should first migrate your host network to vSS, otherwise you will not be able to remove this host from the host vCenter. For step by step to move one host from one vCenter to another when using vDS, see the VMware KB: VMware KB: Moving an ESX/ESXi host with vDS from one vCenter Server to another
