‌Hi,

Can you tell us more about the setup?

  • What is the virtual machine hosting your iSCSI target running? Windows? A storage vendor VSA?
  • how is access to the LUNs configured on the storage? Have you allowed access for the IQN from both ESXi hosts?
  • Are you using the software iSCSI initiator on the ESXi hosts?
  • Have you configured VMkernel adapters on both hosts correctly?
  • Does the vmnic uplink on host 1 have access to the neteork the storage appliance is running on?
  • Are there VLANs in your environment and if so, are they configured correctly?

The above is a starting point for s few things to check.

Can you take some screenshots on the physical network adapters, network configuration (port groups and vswitches) as well as the configuration of your iSCSI initiator on host #2?

There is also a pretty big risk in running shared storage for both of your hosts from a single VM residing on one of your hosts. If you are doing something like a freenas / Windows VM and sharing the storage from there, this is not a good idea.

Cheers, Matt.
