Hello,
I have two VSphere 8 vCenters and one legacy vSphere 7 vCenter all connected with linked mode. I was initially planning up upgrade the vSphere 7 vCenter to 8, however it appears due to hardware limitations this will not be possible (The environment it is hosted on is version locked at esxi 6.5).
In order to no long run in mixed mode I would like to remove the legacy vCenter from linked mode entirely, and just have it operate standalone. I have found the following KB which appears to be applicable:
Your environment is now in mixed mode. It is recommended you update your linked vCenter Servers to t...
However, the KB specifically states:
Note: This is only intended to remove stale vCenter service registrations. For vCenter registrations in linked mode that have not yet been upgraded, those should be upgraded and not removed using the commands above.
Is there a recommended way of removing a vCenter which I no longer want to be linked? The legacy vCenter is online and responding, I just want to make it standalone.
