Windows vCenter 6.0 Watchdog services?

Hi all Smiley Happy

I'm having some trouble understanding vCenter Watchdog in Windows vCenter.

As i saw earlier, in the VCSA you could see, start and stop all Watchdog services running.

However, I couldn't find any services / processes corresponding to Watchdog on the Windows vCenter.

How can I know if Watchdog is watching my Windows vCenter server? Are there any services or processes responsible to the operation of Watchdog on the Windows vCenter? is there something i'm missing?

Thank you! Smiley Happy

Take a look at this blog post by one of my colleagues. It should answer most of your questions but if there's anything outstanding let me know.

Hi Adam. thank you for you answer.

This is not the first time i stumble across this acticle.

Although this time it helped me understand the Service Wrappers in context of the PID Watchdog, I am still not sure about the way the API Watchdog works.

I understood it's functionality, but I still can't understand how the API Watchdog is watching the functionality of vCenter.

Where is it operating from? Is it running inside the VPXD process?
