What logs do I need to look at to figure out why my vcenter upgrade is failing?

Trying to update Vcenter from 5.5.0.5201 build 1476389 to 5.5.0.20400 build 2442330. I keep getting the same error: Failed to install updates(Error while running installation tests) Not sure where to look in the logs to narrow this down to a root cause

Here is the default path for vpxd.log which contains the update logs and vcenter server logs.

You can get the error details from that file.

(C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\Log  )

In my case Vcenter is running on Linux. Where would this log reside on that platform?
