Well, the correct approach would probably be to open a case with HP and ask them when they will fix this issue. If they can't give you an answer, then it might be option to downgrade the two mentioned vibs.

A couple of users reported an issue with HP's latetest ESXi Oflline Bundle (v1.4). Please take a look at e.g. http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/ProLiant-Servers-ML-DL-SL/ESXi-5-0-Hardware-Status-shown-as-Warning-but... whether this is the same issue you experience.

Just an FYI, I got the following from HP.

Issue : P220i Controller failure alert in VMware

Action Plan:
1. Kindly remove the below VIBs from the local ESXi host by typing esxcli software vib remove -n hp-smx-provider for each vib listed below:

hp-smx-provider
char-hpilo
char-hpcru
hp-ams

2. Reboot the host after removing the VIBs and download the older version of ESXi 5 offline bundle and the version is 1.3-12 (4 Sep 2012)
URL: http://tinyurl.com/ca5xdc3

3. Reboot the ESXi HOST once again after installation of the offline bundle and check the status in the vCenter
