Vsphere Client Server DNS Login Query

I'm in the process of setting up a new system, rather than using the long computer name to connect into vCenter, is it possible to create a DNS entry to point this to the word "Sandpit", so when connecting with the client rather  than users typing cvsj857346 they can just type sandpit and then use their credentials to connect into vCenter?

Hi,

yes, thats possible. Create a CNAME for your vCenter Server.

But keep in mind, that, if you are using own ssl certs, you will get an ssl error until you add that name to your certs
