Vmware tool install on Centos Linux Guest

I want to install vmware tools on a Linux guest. I mount the cd and the install halts. We are  vCSA 6. Where can I find or download the o/s specific tools? I will be installing from a command line.

What is the version of centos?

If it's 6.x, or less then make sure you have perl installed.

Look for log messages.

If still stuck, you can try to upgrade Linux kernel and install cm tools.

If you are using centos 7.x then you need to install open vm tools. See below URL.
