Virtual Machines Guest OS shows wrong OS version in VSphere Client

Actual installed OS is Windows Server 2016 Standard, VSphere Client > Virtual Machines list shows it's Windows Server 2012. And for installed Windows 10 Pro, Vsphere Client reads it as Windows 8. I suspect that because I'm using an old build of the software and Windows Server 2016 and Windows 10 Pro doesn't exist yet when this build has been released. I hope someone can confirm this.

vSphere Client v5.5.0 build 1880841
VMware vCenter Server v5.5.0 build 1891313

Thank you.

Ciao

Yes, I can confirm that it is a version problem.
For example windows 2016 is only supported by ESXi 6.5

As you can see here:

To check the compatibility between Guest OS and ESXi you can check this link
