Welcome to the Community,

in order to evaluate the vCenter Appliance in VMware Workstation, you need to edit the .vmx file prior to powering on the imported image.

Make sure you close the VM's tab (or VMware Workstation) prior to editing the .vmx file to ensure it is reread after the modification!

guestinfo.cis.appliance.net.addr.family = "ipv4"

guestinfo.cis.appliance.net.addr = "172.16.1.1"

guestinfo.cis.appliance.net.pnid = "172.16.1.1"

guestinfo.cis.appliance.net.prefix = "24"

guestinfo.cis.appliance.net.mode = "static"

guestinfo.cis.appliance.net.dns.servers = "172.16.1.99"

guestinfo.cis.appliance.net.gateway = "172.16.1.99"
