VMware vCenter 6.5 with indows 2008R2 crashed

Hi

We have tree VMware Esxi 6.5 hosts with about 35 running VM`s whichs are managed by a Vmware vCenter 6.5. in one cluster.

Now we got this message when we try to connect to the vCenter 6.5.0 server:

503 Service Unavailable (Failed to connect to endpoint: [class Vmacore::Http::NamedPipeServiceSpec:0x0000000000330730] _serverNamespace = / action = Allow _pipeName =\\.\pipe\vmware-vpxd-webserver-pipe)

  • What do we have to do to solve this error message and get the vCenter up and running again?

  • If we install a new clean vCenter appliance 6.7 u2, what do we have to do add the tree existing ESXi  6.5.0 hosts to the new vCenter appliance 6.7u2?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

Audun Hjertholm

Noting you have to do. Deploy new VC, create cluster and add ESXi hosts.

Are you using distributed or standra switch?

If you are using std then you can deloy new VC and add the hosts again.

Note: You need to re-add the external solution if you have any.

Thank you for quick response, Brend26.

We are using standard virtuell switch only som that should be fine.

To be sure. Do we have to do anything with the tree ESXi hosts before adding them to the

new vCenter 6.7? (like disconnect the tree ESXi hosts from the existing faulty vCenter?)

Best regards,

Audun

Thxs, brend26

So if we add the tree existing ESXi version 6.5 hosts to the new vCenter 6.7u2 cluster,  the VM`s on these hosts also wil be added to this new vCenter automaticly?

Best regards

Did you check web-client service status

Is DB SQL or embedded

If it SQL , are you able to connect DB ?
