Hello folks, glad to be here in the VMware forums. I got a question while I was sizing a VMware enviroment that hosts Windows VMs.
I used perfmon to monitor every virtual machine, and one of them indicates that it's MAX CPU usage was 28%. This VM occuppies 8 vcpus of 32 vcpus remaining.
To have a better granuIarity in my sizing, I used ESXTOP to monitor this same server and indicates that it's processor is underused (6% max usage) but, when I checked the parameter of the same VM in the ESXTOP file, that is called: "Group Cpu(1069562:VMname)\% Used" wich I don't know what is this, but it had a value of 210%. This got me so confused, nonetheless, I assumed that this number is the max usage of the 8 vCPUs that this VM has.
The question is: why do I have a value of 28% as max usage in perfmon and this value of 210% in ESXTOP? wich one is more important? Do I have to care about this?
Thank you!
