VMware Update Manager

I'm running ESX 5.0 right now and I have inherited this setup with little known about it.  In Vsphere, I click on plug-ins-->Manage Plugins and I see there is an available VMWare vSphere Update manager Extension.  The version is 5.0.0.8039.  The status is download and install.  What systems will be affected if I install it?  I'm trying to make sure I don't take down everything not realizing what I'm doing.  Thanks

This will install the cleint plug-in on the local machine you are running the vSphere Client from only. No other systems will be impacted.
