VMs going into suspended state

I upgraded the VMware Tools on a couple of servers when we upgraded our vCenter to 5.5 and now about every 40 minutes, the servers are going into suspended state.  I'll power them back up and after 40 minutes, they go back into suspended state.

Both are on separate hosts and we have no alarms as far as resources.  They did not do this before the upgrade.  Luckily, I only installed the upgrade on our two non-critical servers.  Anyone know what could be causing this?

No, these are both Windows Server 2008 R2 servers.

It has to be related to the VMware Tools upgrade.  If upgrading the tools, the servers go into suspended state. But if I build a fresh server (with the latest VMware Tools installed), that server does not go into suspended state.

It used to happen in my Windows 7 hosts coz of the power management option that was set in them telling them to go to standby after 30 mins.... Scratched my head for days and then realized it when a colleague pointed it out. So I asked if it's something of that sort.

Found the problem.  It was, indeed, the power management option.

After installing/upgrading VMware Tools, it will change the power management settings for the server to go to sleep after 30 minutes.  This is odd because no servers should really go to sleep/suspend and by default, Windows Server has this is turned off.  So, I'm wondering why VMware Tools turns it on.
