VMCA (vmware Certificate Authority) in vCenter 6.5 and 5.5 hosts, compatible?

Hi! I've an environment where we got 2x 6.5 hosts and 3x 5.5 hosts. Now I'm looking into updating the certificates on the hosts. I know how to do this on the esxi 5.5 hosts but on the 6.5 hosts the recommended method is to use the VMCA. I'm thinking of using VMCA option no:2 "Replace VMCA Root certificate with Custom Signing Certificate and replace all Certificates" will this also update the certificates on the esxi 5.5 hosts? or only on the 6.x hosts? Is there any issues that I can run in to? //BR Patrik

If you are planning to use VMCS as subordinate CA, please see the KB: 2112016(https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2112016) which explains the same scenario and procedure to do. As you are performing the changes at vCenter level, all the hosts connected to the vcenter will be affected.
