VMCA Certificate Manager - incorrect password

I've SSHed as 'root' into vCenter Server Appliance 6  Run /usr/lib/vmware-vmca/bin/certificate-manager, option 2.  It asks for username and prompts a default of 'Administrator@vsphere.local'  The password I know is correct does not work.  Ran /usr/lib/vmware-vmdir/bin/vdcadmintool option 3 "Reset account password" and enter same.  Fails with "VmDirForceResetPassword failed (9106)"

How do I get past this?

sysjno you could possibly try to use the steps in Error: "VmDirForceResetPassword failed" while resetting the SSO administrator password using vdcadmi...  to see if it helps

Is your default domain vsphere.local or custom?

If its custom, can you verify if you are providing the right vsphere sso domain when entering the username

Thanks,
