VM's Change Firmware From BIOS to EFI Automatically Upon Reboot?

We have a weird situation. Recently we upgraded from 6.7 to 7.0.3, and some, if not all VM's, upon reboot they change their firmware from BIOS to EFI rendering them unable to boot and we have to manually set it back to BIOS. Does anyone know why this might be?

This could be caused by a compatibility issue with the VMware environment after upgrading to vSphere 7.0.3. The change in firmware from BIOS to EFI may be a result of an upgrade process that changed the virtual machine's configuration. To resolve the issue, you can try changing the firmware back to BIOS manually in the virtual machine's settings.
