VM ids - Are they ever reused?

Under normal conditions within the vcdb, is it ever possible for a vm_id to be reallocated to a new VM, after the original has been deleted?

I was actually referring to the vm_id (like found in the VPX_EVENT table).    It doesn't appear to be a uuid, just a plain old integer or number.

Seems to start at 1 and just keep incrementing.
