VM fails to power on

Hello Guys,

When i try to power on a VM it doesn't power on. It starts loading after it stops at a certain level. That's a screenshot of the error. I currently facing the issue with one my VMs.

Does it just stay on 15% or does it give any error after some time?

No error. It remains at 15 %.

Can you check logs /var/log/vmware/hostd.log on host on whiich this VM residing. And check logs also on vmware.log file inside VM folder. This could be due to resources reservation/over commitment.

vijayrana968‌ i looked at the logs in /var/log/hostd.log but no logs were generated at that time or maybe there were erased. Where can i find the vmware.log?

vmware.log file is located in the same folder with the virtual machine files on the datastore.

Is that on the esxi host? if yes it is empty

In your case I think the log should be:

/vmfs/volumes/VSAN Datastore/l-vme-vras-02/vmware.log 

and

/vmfs/volumes/VSAN Datastore/l-vme-vras-02/vmware-xx.log
