I just added a new node to my cluster and was trying to figure out why DRS was not migrating VM's to the new host. I forced a VM over to the new host and immediately the system migrated it back. I started looking and found a list of VM and Host groups that had all my VMs in three groups and my three hosts in three groups and there were affinity rules to keep the vm groups on the host groups. None of which included my new host. The thing is I did not define these groups, they are listed as system defined. I do have two affinity rules defined, one to separate Domain controllers another to separate ADFS servers.
Can I delete these system defined VM/Host groups?
Why would the system create these groups and then assign them to affinity rules?
