We have been having problems with our Veeam Backups over the past week and I've isolated this to a VMWare issue.
We are a small shop and have a very simple setup. 2 ESXi Hosts connected to a small EMC SAN via iSCSI. Backups are going to a Seagate Pro NAS via NFS.
For this scenario I have two hosts and two servers. If Server 1 and Server 2 are on Host 1, I can hot add existing VMDK files from Server 2 into Server 1. If I move Server 2 to Host 2 (Change Host only) when attempting to do the same thing and add existing VMDK files from Server 2 into Server 1 the Browse Datastores window just says "Searching datastore......." and eventually returns a blank result. When I move Server 2 back to Host 1 it works fine. If I move both servers from Host 1 to Host 2 is also works fine. The only time it "times out" is when the servers are on different hosts.
