We are working on a renewal of our vSphere 7.0 U3 ESXi hosts and have to update to latest version of vSphere 7.0. We tried to do this via the Lifecycle Manager. The ISO based upgrade is working without any issue, but the patch bases functions keep hanging.
in the first place staging doesn´t get through the procedure and is hanging at staging 0 %. The same happens if we try to run a remediate function. It keeps hanging for hours.
We have provided the logs from Lifecycle Manager and a specific host to outline the issue.
Does anyone have a suggestion why it isn´t working
Hi,
I had the same problem. And at the end I asked support what to do.
They came up with the following KB:
https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2147284
Eventhough it is destructive for the LcM database, it did work. The updates are working over here again.
Hope it helps.
The solution provided is actually the only one working, because there is an issue with old metadata downloaded from the VMware repositories. Unfortunately it is an issue especially in dark site configurations.
