So i am trying to find the best way to migrate from 5.1 to 6. We are currently in a 5.1 vcenter without the Web Client. We have a Distributed Switch setup. I have setup a new host and have also deployed a new vcenter using the appliance. I have already exported the Folder structure and have also exported permissions and have imported them to the new appliance. I have also exported the Distributed Switch and imported it into the new vCenter. I have read and seen that I would have to create a standard switch with all of our vlans then remove readd host to new vcenter then i can change the network of each vm back to distributed switch. What would be the easiest way to go about this without causing downtime. We also have about 800 vms so manually changing each ones network is nearl impossible and a tedious task. Thank you.
